I’m from sunny San Diego, Ca and I have cared for children for over 22 years. I always knew that it’s crucial for children to learn aquatic life-saving skills with such high exposure to pools and water. So, I was in search of the perfect career that would complement my desire to impact children’s lives.
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development with an emphasis in Children’s Services from Cal State San Marcos. It was then that I realized my child care experience and education would be the perfect blend for becoming a very successful swim teacher.
After college, I researched the best swim programs available and I became a Certified Swim Instructor in 2008. I obtained my Water Safety Instructor certificate in 2012. I’m CPR & first aid certified for adults, children, and infants. In addition, I have an advanced open-water scuba diving certification. I’m COVID vaccinated as well.
As a swim instructor, I’m able to provide children of all ages with priceless, life-saving skills and my career has been endlessly rewarding. Since becoming an instructor I have effectively taught thousands of children these amazing aquatic safety techniques. I also teach Adults and stroke lessons as well. In addition, I’m the head coach of a pre-competitive swim team.

I learned to swim when I was three years old and I quickly fell in love with the water. My dad taught me the basics of swimming in the pool in my backyard. The skills that I developed allowed me to comfortably transition to swimming competitively. I competed for six years during which I started applying my water skills to the ocean; competing in various open water events, bodysurfing, and diving for sand dollars! For a couple of years, I worked at a summer camp teaching kids how to swim in the ocean, surf, and enjoy the beach while staying safe. Doing this made me realize how much I love teaching kids. I have coached a swim team with a competitive group and two pre-comp groups. I’m excited to be part of the Swim Baby Swim team and pass on the knowledge that I have gained through these experiences as the new Head Coach.
